Swatting is a nasty and dangerous practice which seems to be happening with more frequency as of late. For those unfamiliar with the act of Swatting, basically it’s where someone calls into the police telling them that there is a murder or hostage situation at their target’s house, after which police who are heavily armed will then storm that location.

This is dangerous as it could potentially result in an innocent person getting shot and killed, and this recently happened to Joshua Peters, a US Air Force veteran who was hanging out on Twitch the other day where he found himself a victim of a Swatting hoax. The police were apparently called to his house where they pointed guns at his family members.

Peters later said on his stream, “I see you posting my address. I had police point a gun at my little brothers because of you. They could have been shot, they could have died because you chose to SWAT my stream. I don’t give a s*** about what you have against me, or what I did to you. For that, I am at a loss for words. Your gripe is with me so let it be with me and do not involve my family in any way, shape or form with this. They don’t deserve that.”

Like we said earlier this is a potentially dangerous situation and also wastes the resources of police who are called away for the sake of a prank. Thankfully police appear to be cracking down on these hoaxes as they have since arrested people who have been allegedly behind some Swatting hoaxes in the past in other cases. In the meantime you can check out the portion of his stream where he was swatted in the video above.
