After the Android 5.0 Lollipop source code was released HTC promised that it would roll out the update for all One M7 and One M8 devices in the United States within 90 days. That didn’t happen and the company acknowledged that it wouldn’t be able to meet its own deadline. Nevertheless it is trying hard to get the updates out as close to the original deadline as possible. As HTC One M7 starts receiving Lollipop on Sprint the company has also released this update for the HTC One M7 developer edition.

According to reports on Twitter from people who have already received said update the 702MB download brings the software on HTC One M7 developer edition up to Android 5.0.2. The update also brings HTC’s Sense 6.0 custom skin, its version number is 7.17.1540.7.

Folks who happen to have a HTC One M7 developer edition will receive all of the features that come as part and parcel of the Lollipop update. This includes, but is not limited to, lock screen notifications, Material Design, improved security and privacy as well as system-wide performance and stability improvements.

HTC One M7 developer edition Lollipop update is rolling out right now. It may take a couple of days for this update to land on all supported units.
