tg860_1Cameras for the most part are pretty delicate. After all dropping could either damage the internals, or worse still, crack the glass on a very expensive lens. However if you’d rather not have to worry about your camera breaking or getting damaged, you might be interested in Olympus’ latest offering in the form of the Stylus Tough TG-860.

The camera is part of the company’s Stylus Tough series of rugged cameras and the TG-860 is no exception. It will feature a 16MP BSI/CMOS sensor and a 180-degree flip up LCD that will allow users to snap better composed selfies. It is powered by a TruePic VII processor and will be able to record video at Full HD resolution at 60fps.

Now those are the camera features, but what about its rugged features? Just how tough is the Stylus Tough TG-860? Well according to Olympus, the Stylus Tough TG-860 will be able to go underwater up to depth of 50 feet, which is great for those who are planning on scuba diving and want to document their dive.

It is also dustproof, freezeproof up to -10C, shockproof from drops as high as 7 feet, and will also be crushproof up to 220 pounds, so if it is ever run over by a car, it should be able to survive that, hopefully. The camera is priced at $279.99 and is expected to be made available in April.
