The ZTE Nubia Z7 happens to be the existing flagship device from ZTE, but it looks as though the Nubia Z7 is about to lose its position as top dog – assuming a video that has been posted on a Chinese social media site can be believed. Granted, the rumored ZTE Nubia Z9 has made a cameo in a fashion presentation, but it is definitely more than enough to set the tongues out there wagging.
Based on what can be deduced from the video alone, this particular model will feature a shiny glass back that will be accompanied by a central Nubia badge. This is certainly very familiar to those who have been long time users of the Z range from the Sony Xperia family. Apart from that, it will arrive in a boxy, rectangular form factor, while there is also a surrounding metal frame that would not be too different from that of what Sony has done with their Xperia smartphones before.
Granted, the marginally rounded corners do happen to appear on the existing Nubia Z7, so it is not all a copycat experience, I will grant you that. As for the detailed hardware specifications, once can only speculate, but it should not be worse off than what its soon-to-be predecessor, right? That makes perfect sense, after all. Perhaps we might be able to find out more at MWC later next week.
