Like many other people around the world I have been anxiously waiting for Slightly Mad Studios’ new title Project Cars to arrive. It was first slated for release in November last year. That’s when the title was delayed for the first time to March 2015. Recently the developer told us that it had to delay the release to April 2nd so that it could make some final changes. Those who have been waiting for this title will now have to wait even longer because Slightly Mad Studios confirmed today that Project Cars has been delayed once more.

The studio said today that Project Cars is “99.9% complete” and that the remaining bugs and small issues are being fixed, which were “tricky to anticipate.”

Thanking fans for their support and patience on this matter, studio head Ian Bell said “We firmly believe gamers deserve it to be in its most complete and polished state when they come to play it on day one.”

Given how some major titles that have been released recently were plagued with issues because the developers clearly didn’t spend the amount of time that they should have before pushing the title out, this new delay might actually go a long way in ensuring that gamers get the best possible experience from Project Cars when it arrives.

Bell has already confirmed that as a compensation for this delay gamers will be given free content but doesn’t reveal as yet what the content is going to be.

Project Cars is now going to be released in mid-May.
