It’s no secret that the Galaxy S5 didn’t perform quite as well in the market as Samsung would have hoped. This is the reason why Samsung went back to the drawing board for Project Zero and came up with the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, which many Android fans are now calling one of the best devices this company has ever made. If a report is to be believed then this changed has worked. Pre-orders for the Galaxy S6 and its Edge variant are said to be twice than the Galaxy S5 managed to bring in during the same period in the United States.

Samsung has not yet confirmed official pre-order figures for its new flagship smartphones but a couple of weeks back one report claimed that the company’s carrier and retail partners had placed orders for up to 20 million units combined of both devices.

Another recent rumor claimed that due to overwhelming demand from its partners Samsung has had to triple the production of the Galaxy S6 Edge since carriers and retailers expect this device to do well in the market.

In the U.S. major carriers have already started taking pre-orders for both handsets. Pre-orders can also be placed at Samsung Experience Shops that can be found in select Best Buy stores across the country. Samsung will release the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge on April 10th.
