HTC Said To Be Reducing One M9 Component Orders

HTC has built pretty solid and beautiful looking phones over the years, but unfortunately it seems that the company’s brand just isn’t as strong as the likes of its Android competitors, namely Samsung who continues to dominate the Android market. We’ve seen this happen over the years which is why it does not come as a surprise to learn that HTC could be scaling back their orders for components of the HTC One M9.

According to a report from DigiTimes, who has been hit or miss with their claims over the years, it seems that HTC is looking to cut back the amount of orders for components for the HTC One M9. Apparently this is because the handset has been underperforming in terms of sales, so much so that HTC could be looking to reduce orders by as much as 30%, although HTC has declined to comment on these claims.

Apparently one of the reasons the handset isn’t doing as well as it should is because of its design, which is pretty similar to its predecessor the HTC One M8. We suppose this is a fair assessment but at the same time, the HTC One M8 was a nicely designed phone, but we guess customers just wanted something new and different.

DigiTimes also claims that HTC is facing rather fierce competition in the mid-range market from other Chinese competitors, such as Huawei, Vivo, Oppo, Lenovo, and Xiaomi, just to name a few. Assuming this is true, the future is certainly looking a bit bleak for the company.
