ratchet-clank-movieNow here is new for fans of Ratchet & Clank. Apparently, word has it that the Ratchet & Clank movie will be released in the US in slightly less than a year’s time. To be exact, we are looking at an April 29, 2016 release. It was at last year’s edition of E3 that the world managed to get a first glimpse of Ratchet & Clank, and it is nice to see that an official release date has been stated at long last.

With this announcement also come other details, such as Focus Features (The Box Trolls, The Theory of Everything, Dallas Buyers Club) being the party that will handle the US distribution of the film. Other celebrity talent that will be contributing to the Ratchet & Clank movie include Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe winner Paul Giamatti as Chairman Drek, Golden Globe winner John Goodman as Ratchet’s mechanic mentor Grimroth, Young Artist Award winner Bella Thorne as Galactic Ranger Cora, Rosario Dawson as Galactic Ranger support team member Elaris, and Academy Award nominee Sylvester Stallone as Victor Von Ion, Chairman Drek’s villainous lieutenant.

The voices that folks have become familiar with for Ratchet, Clank, Nefarious and Captain Qwark will also make return, being voiced by the same actors as in the games. Do expect to see some special cameos in the film, too. [Press Release]
