2877888-fallout4_trailer_handy_1433355596When Fallout 4 was officially announced, many gamers were happy that they were finally getting a sequel after all these years, however there were some who were a bit perplexed by the fact that despite being this day and age, the graphics of the game were less than spectacular. By no means are the graphics horrible, it’s just that gamers understandably expected a lot more.

However Bethesda has since explained the reason as to why they opted for those graphics. According to a report from GameSpot, it seems that the reason why Bethesda decided to dial back the graphics was because of the complex interaction system they created in the game, and because of that they have to make some compromises.

Bethesda exec Pete Hines was quoted as saying, “Everything that we do is a balance. We could make the best looking game possible, but we dial some of that back in order to allow for all of these other things. If you want to pick flowers and make potions all day, then that’s what you’re role-playing. If you want to go shoot everybody in the head with a laser-musket, then that’s what you’re role-playing.”

We suppose those are some fair points although we have to wonder had Bethesda decided to dial up the graphics, what kind of eye candy might we be treated to? In the meantime how do you guys feel about the game’s graphics? Are you satisfied with Bethesda’s explanation or do you think it could be better?
