Now we’re not sure how many of you guys have entertained the idea of what it would be like if Street Fighter characters were to be introduced into Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros franchise. In fact recently there have been such rumors but wonder no more! Nintendo has officially announced that Street Fighter’s Ryu will be added to the Super Smash Bros lineup.

According to Nintendo’s description of the character, “Classic Street Fighter moves like Hadoken and Shoryuken can be activated with just a one-button press, but players who enter the original button combinations from the Street Fighter series will perform the same actions with higher damage.”

Ryu will not be the only new character to be introduced. Nintendo has also announced that they will be adding Roy from Fire Emblem who will also be joining Lucas from Mother 3 which was announced earlier. These characters are now available for download and can be bought for either the Nintendo 3DS or the Wii U, or both if you happen to play on both consoles.

Ryu will be the more expensive of the three and is priced at $5.99 or $6.99 for both platforms. It will also come with the Suzaku Castle stage from the Street Fighter series. As for Roy and Lucas, they will be priced at $3.99 each, or $4.99 for both versions of the game. If you’d like to learn more about the new characters you can check out Nintendo’s announcement in the video above.
