redmi-note2-leakThere were whispers going around that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 could very well have been the device that Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun was referring, when he made mention of a new Note handset that will be unveiled this coming 29th of June. Well, he might very well have played the role of the devil’s advocate, since an image that you see above shows what could be the back portion of the Redmi Note 2. This image hails from @leaksfly, and while it shares many a family resemblance to the Redmi Note 2 image that was leaked earlier, this particular leaked shot does include a fingerprint scanner that apparently resides under the LED flash on the back of the unit.

As for the hardware specifications, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 is tipped to come with a 5.5” display at 1080 x 1920 resolution, sporting a 64-bit MediaTek MT6795 SoC with a true octa-core CPU and the PowerVR G6200 GPU. Shutterbugs will appreciate the 13MP camera at the back, while selfie lovers should not have anything to complain about concerning the 5MP front-facing camera. Expect Android 5.0.2 Lollipop at the very least to be installed, along with a 3,000mAh battery to keep it chugging along nicely.

As for pricing and availability, why not we all wait until the end of the month to find out more?
