xperiaz3-z2-lollipopBetter late than never, don’t you think so? Hence, it is far from surprising to see that Sony has started to roll out the long awaited Android 5.1 Lollipop update to their Sony Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z3 range of smartphones, and if you happen to be rocking to older models from the Xperia Z family, fret not – we have also received words of assurance from the folks over at Sony that devices such as the Sony Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1 Compact, and Xperia Z Ultra will be up next to obtain the firmware update.

However, as of now, the Sony Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact, Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, Xperia Z2, and Xperia Z2 Tablet will be on the receiving end of the Android 5.1 Lollipop update. Needless to say, one should also be cautious to take note (and have a dose of patience, of course) that depending on the timing and exact availability of the update, various devices under different carriers will get it, so do not fret all that much.

With Android 5.1 Lollipop in tow, do expect a slew of goodies to play a role on the above mentioned tablets and smartphones from Sony, where among them would include camera improvements, enhanced enterprise support, improved SmartWear integration, and additional customization options to suit even the most demanding and discerning of consumers out there.
