tekken-tag-tournament-2-screenshot_1280.0_cinema_720.0A few years ago, the folks at Capcom released Street Fighter X Tekken which was basically an arcade-style fighting game where there were characters from both the Street Fighter and Tekken franchise. Now the folks at Namco Bandai were supposed to released Tekken X Street Fighter, but last we heard the game was still in development and that was in 2014.

Now that we’re in the second half of 2015, what gives? Is the game still being worked on? Or has it quietly been shelved? For those who are curious and are still holding out on getting their hands on it, you can rest assured knowing that the game has not been cancelled. This was confirmed by Katsuhiro Harada who recently spoke in an interview with Famitsu.

According to Harada, he denied it when it was brought up that the game might have been cancelled. He then went on to say, “I’ve been saying this since before, but the fact of the matter is that we’re at a pretty far stage into its development. It might seem like we haven’t started on it at all, but the character lineup has been decided upon since a very long time ago and we’ve already finished the polygon models, moves, and systems.”

As to why the game is taking so long, Harada admits that his work on other titles such as Pokemon Tournament and Tekken 7 might have caused the delay, stating that the game would need its own spotlight which is why it has yet to be released. Unfortunately there is still no word on when it will be released, so fans will just have to remain patient and be glad that it is still on.
