prodronebyrd2When it comes to drones, you know for sure that popularity of this device has been picking up slowly but surely, and this is where the grey area of guidelines pertaining to the use of drones have appeared, too. Not too many people are aware of drone etiquette, I suppose, and whose jurisdiction do drones fall under? The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has taken it upon themselves to investigate an incident where a drone injured an 11-month-old girl in the head when it crashed on a Pasadena street recently.

The poor baby was being pushed about in a stroller by her mother, when debris from a small sized (thankfully), privately-owned drone came crashing down on Marengo Avenue near Union Street, at approximately 6:30 p.m. last Saturday. Needless to say, this accident resulted in the baby suffering from a large contusion on her forehead, while the side of her head had a small cut. Subsequently, the baby was treated at a hospital before being released. She was not the only victim, as the baby’s mother was hit as well, although no injury happened to her.

Apparently, the drone’s owner lost control of it, and it remains to be seen whether the drone’s owner violated any of the federal regulations that are in place.
