It has been a while since Microsoft released some new hardware and today the company confirmed that it’s going to conduct a press event on October 6th where it’s likely to unveil the Surface Pro 4 as well as the high-end Lumia flagship smartphones that we have been hearing about. The press event is going to take place in New York where Microsoft will show off multiple devices powered by Windows 10.

Previous reports have claimed that at its event in October Microsoft is going to unveil the Surface Pro 4 tablet, the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL high-end flagship smartphones and perhaps even the new Microsoft Band.

Some of these products were initially expected to be unveiled at IFA 2015 earlier this month but Microsoft didn’t make any major announcements there, instead it has opted to conduct its own event next month for these new devices.

Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL are going to be the first smartphones that come with Windows 10 Mobile right out of the box, Microsoft hasn’t released new flagship Lumia handsets for a while now so there’s certainly a lot riding on these two smartphones.

Rumor has it that the Surface Pro 4 may have a larger display with improved resolution while being thinner and lighter overall with updated internals, we’ll only know for sure come October 6th.
