new-googleGoogle has been a very busy bee today with the company having unveiled their latest Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P smartphones that are set to impress with the kind of accompanying hardware specifications, not to mention being loaded with the latest Android version, simply known as Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Of course, while Marshmallow goes about taking advantage of the new handsets’ hardware in order to show off the best of what it offers, you can also expect older devices to run on Marshmallow in due time. In fact, Android 6.0 Marshmallow is set to roll out next week, where the 5th of October is when the Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 7 (2013), Nexus 9 and Nexus Player will pick up the update, although several names are missing from the roster in which you can check out right after the jump.

The trio of devices that does look as though they will miss the Android 6.0 Marshmallow bandwagon would be the Nexus 4, Nexus 7 (2012) and Nexus 10, and it also looks likely that this sombre trio will not obtain any more OS updates other than those that are available at the moment. They will, however, continue to pick up patches under Google’s monthly security updates, but Lollipop is as far as the sweet adventure goes.
