blackberry-priv-official-1

Ever since it teased the handset back in March this year it has been consistently rumored that BlackBerry is going to unveil its first ever Android-powered smartphone this year, it was widely referred to by its codename Venice until BlackBerry confirmed itself that yes its next device really is an Android-powered smartphone. The device is called BlackBerry Priv and despite confirming it BB is yet to reveal when it will officially launch this handset, however there are signs that the launch just might be around the corner.

It was in November last year when BlackBerry released the Passport, it’s flagship smartphone for 2014 and since then the company hasn’t released a proper new flagship. So it’s about time that a new BB flagship was released.

Now listings for BlackBerry Priv accessories have appeared online, accessories such as leather holsters, pockets, hard shell cases and sync pods.

This goes to show that things are in motion now and that it won’t be too long before BlackBerry officially launches the Priv, a smartphone that could either make it or break it for the company that’s having a very hard time competing in the global smartphone market.

It goes without saying that the Priv has managed to create hype for a new BlackBerry device, it’s the company’s first Android device and many are excited to see BB’s take on Android, and whether or not they’ll be convinced enough to give up their Samsungs, HTCs and LGs to once again go back to the Canadian manufacturer.
