The BlackBerry Priv has been revealed by the company in various shapes and forms. We’ve seen official photos and official videos, but to date we have not been treated to a formal announcement in which its specs and features are revealed, and more importantly when the handset will actually be available.

However it would seem that the folks at derStandard.at have managed to get their hands on a pre-production unit of the handset and have since conducted a mini review of it. That being said, they do note that the review is for the pre-production unit meaning that the final version of the phone could be different from what they have experienced.

For example while the hardware is probably finalized, there could be tweaks and changes made to the software that might result in a better experience in the final version, or there could be potentially new features added, or there could be some features that are removed. Either way take it with a grain of salt for now.

In the meantime the review has revealed the phone’s specs to us, confirming some of which we have already known. For those who are catching up with the rumors, the BlackBerry Priv will feature a 5.4-inch curved QHD display. Under the hood, there is a Snapdragon 808 chipset with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, microSD support, LTE connectivity, and an 18MP rear-facing. On the front there is a 5MP camera and to top things off, the phone will run on Android 5.1 Lollipop.
