A few months back it was revealed that Apple was teaming up with Postmates to offer customers same-day delivery of products if they were willing to pay the extra charge. It did start offering this feature through its Apple Store app and the option was also expanded to the company’s online store. However the feature was limited to some San Francisco Bay Area zip codes but the option has today been expanded to New York as well.

Apple is now offering same-day delivery in New York through both its online store and mobile app, it does appear to be limited to select zip codes for now, so it would be best to check via the app or online store before making an order.

There’s a $19 flat-rate free for same-day delivery, customers have to select the option for “courier delivery” during checkout to ensure that their order is delivered on the same day. Delivery is guaranteed within 2 hours during business hours for selected products in select zip codes.

To offer this delivery option to residents of New York Apple has expanded its partnership with Postmates, that’s quite a big win for the San Francisco-based startup that already has operations up and running in major cities across the country. Eventually we might see the partnership go even further and Apple allow customers in those cities to opt for same-day delivery if they want.
