warcraftTitles from Blizzard such as the original StarCraft, Warcraft 3, and Diablo 2 are considered to be classics in their own right. They are pretty dated but we’re sure that many gamers had a lot of fun playing them back in the day. The good news is that Blizzard seems to be keen on revitalizing those titles.

In a job description for a senior software engineer (via Polygon), Blizzard writes, “Evolving operating systems, hardware, and online services have made them more difficult to be experienced by their loyal followers or reaching a new generation. We’re restoring them to glory, and we need your engineering talents, your passion, and your ability to get tough jobs done.”

Basically the job will see that some of Blizzard’s older games are playable on more modern systems of today. It is unclear if this means that we could be looking at some kind of HD remake of these older titles, or if Blizzard is just trying to get them in working condition, but keeping it as it is.

A HD remake would no doubt be welcome, especially for titles like Warcraft 3 in which the RTS has since been eclipsed by the World of Warcraft MMORPG. Blizzard has expressed interest in Warcraft 4 in the past, so maybe revitalizing Warcraft 3 could be a precursor to them actually making the game.
