Telltale Games announced back in 2013 that it had entered into a partnership with HBO to create an episodic game series for Game of Thrones, HBO’s hit TV show, the first season of this episodic series was released earlier this year. Telltale has now confirmed that there’s going to be a second season of this episodic series which will be out next year.

Co-founder and CEO of Telltale Games Kevin Bruner tells The Hollywood Reporter that it has always been a multi-title and multiyear partnership with HBO so a second season was never out of the question.

Bruner confirmed that following this week’s finale of the first season Telltale is officially announcing that there will be a season season of the Game of Thrones episodic series and that it’s currently in development.

The announcement of the upcoming second season really won’t be surprising to people who have played The Ice Dragon, the finale of the first season, it raised many questions that need to be answered and it’s quite obvious that they will be tackled in the second season.

Bruner was asked about the fate of House Forrester to which he said that there’s a larger story that’s going to play out and that the choices players make in season one will set the stage for what’s to come down the line. The series’ multi-character storytelling will continue in the new season.

Telltale has not yet confirmed precisely when the second season of its Game of Thrones episodic series will actually be released.
