Many were no doubt relieved when it was revealed that Skybound Games would be picking up where Telltale left off on development of The Walking Dead game. Also considering that this is the final season for the game, we’re sure that many gamers are happy that even though Telltale has shut down, the game will be wrapped up and concluded properly.
As many have heard by now, Telltale Games has officially shut down. The announcement was rather sudden and surprised many, especially gamers who were probably looking forward to concluding and wrapping up the final season for Telltale’s The Walking Dead game, although thankfully Skybound later announced that they would be picking up where Telltale left off.
Telltale Games is the studio behind some popular episodic titles like The Walking Dead. However, it has been going through some troubles recently which led the studio to lay off a majority of its employees several weeks ago. Telltale was actually in assignment proceedings which are similar to bankruptcy. It has now been confirmed that this studio will be closing down for good.
Recently it was confirmed that Skybound would be taking over the development duties of Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead series following the studio’s announcement that they would be shutting down. The announcement was sudden which led to many wondering about the state of some of the studio’s games that have yet to be completed.

The company also confirmed that they would be keeping a skeleton crew on hand to help wrap things up, which unfortunately does not involve them finishing up some of their existing projects, such as The Walking Dead game.
Telltale’s The Walking Dead: Final Season has started its release, but as some of you guys might have heard, the company had recently announced that they will be closing up shop and it was also later revealed that The Walking Dead might not be completed and would end after episode 2 (the game, not the TV series).
Last week it was reported that Telltale Games would be shutting down and in the process, they have laid off the majority of their staff. Many wondered about the state of the company’s ongoing projects, one of which included a Stranger Things game based on the Netflix series, but there is some good news as it seems that Telltale’s closure has not affected Netflix’s interest in such a game.

Telltale has delivered some great episodic games so far, including Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead, so it won’t be surprising for many of its fans to hear that it has decided to produce a new series based on Netflix’s hit show Stranger Things.
