overwatchBlizzard’s latest franchise Overwatch is expected to be released come Spring 2016. This means that we still have quite a while to go. However in the meantime if you’d like to try the game for yourself, this weekend could be your chance. Blizzard has announced that they will be kicking off a beta weekend.

However there is a catch and that is the beta is invite-only, but do feel free to opt-in on it. To opt-in, all you’d have to do is log into Battle.net, go to Profile Settings, and click “Overwatch” as being the beta you’re interested in. As Blizzard notes, opting in does not guarantee you a spot, but it does give you a chance to be selected for an invite.

Blizzard also notes that the beta will be more of a stress test. “Since this is a stress test, we’re primarily interested in your technical feedback, like how Overwatch runs on your system, your experience with the beta servers, critical bug reports, and other game-impacting problems. One of our goals is to push our hardware to the limit, so don’t be surprised if you experience performance issues or run into unexpected downtime—that’s all part of the process.”

The beta will last from the 20th of November which is this coming Friday, and will last until the 23rd of November which is Monday, so you’ve got pretty much the entire weekend to enjoy it if you have been selected. In the meantime Overwatch is available for pre-purchase. No specific release dates have been given.
