I know, Star Wars: The Force Awakens could very well shatter all box office records as it opens in just a couple of days’ time, and there has been plenty of attention on the space opera to date, so much so many different companies are doing their best to milk this seemingly inexhaustible cow for profit. While replica lightsabers are always fun to carry around, Google has another take on this elegant weapon which has attained cult status among movie goers worldwide – by using a Chrome experiment to transform your smartphone into a Star Wars lightsaber.

The new Chrome experiment is known as “Lightsaber Escape”, where working alongside Disney, LucasFilm, and Industrial Light & Magic, this Star Wars “interactive web experience” will see you kick off your adventure in a Star Destroyer, where “you’ll need to use your phone as a lightsaber to escape the First Order.”

Playing the Lightsaber Escape game is pretty much a straightforward affair, where all that you need to do is to swing your handset around in order to control the lightsaber on your desktop or laptop, where the main goal would be to get yourself out of this royal mess with the Jedi’s preferred weapon. Have you purchased your Star Wars tickets yet?
