Volkswagen might not be in the best of situations at the moment even though they are in the midst of fixing the emissions cheating engines, but this does not mean that everything else should just be dropped by the automotive company, right? Hence, it is not surprising to see how the German company has teased a new electric concept before CES 2016 kicks off – leaving some to wonder whether this might very well be the spanking new Microbus.
Rumors of a new Microbus has been hanging around for quite some time already, and taking into consideration how CES has grown to be a platform that features automotive technologies as well, it is not surprising to hear of the possibility of a new electric car making its debut at the show.
Hence, the teaser image that you see above, where the boxy shape will definitely be fuel for additional rumors of a spanking new Microbus. It will be futuristic for sure, and it seems that the wide, solid, D-pillar, the boxy design of the centre section and a very short overhang for the front end would be details that need to be maintained in order to pay homage to the classic ride. Chances are if the new Microbus were to be revealed at CES 2016, who wants to bet against it having a cheating chip within?
