If you’re somewhat of a thrill-seeker, then you probably have found yourself on many rollercoaster rides. However if the thrill of experiencing a rollercoaster is starting to wear off, you might want to consider making a trip over to the UK this coming April, as the country’s theme park Alton Towers has announced a new upcoming ride.

Dubbed Galatica, this rollercoaster ride will differ from the more traditional ride thanks to the addition of new technology in the form of virtual reality headsets. Ride-goers will be lying face down and strapped in place in what is basically a modification and rebranding of the theme park’s Air rollercoaster ride.

The theme park claims that those who ride its Galatica rollercoaster will experience a maximum g-force of 3.5gs, which is apparently more than what astronauts experience during a rocket launch. The headsets will be synchronized with the visuals so that the riders can look around and experience various worlds, taking the rider through different galaxies and sending them through a warp tunnel.

It sounds like quite an experience so like we said, if you’re bored of the old-fashioned rollercoaster, then head on over to the UK this coming April and you should be able to take a ride on Galatica.
