htc-one-review-m8-labshot-04The HTC One M9 is currently the latest flagship phone from the company, but for those who are still using older devices like the HTC One M8, fret not because HTC has not forgotten about you. In fact according to a tweet by HTC’s VP of Product Management, Mo Versi, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will be headed your way tonight.

Note that this is for the Sprint version of the HTC One M8. According to Versi’s tweet, “Sprint HTC One M8 / M8 HK Owners! Great news, we have received technical approval on the Marshmallow OS update! OTA will start tonight! Thx!” Now if you don’t see your update tonight, fret not because it will most likely be rolled out in stages, but users should be able to expect it by tonight at the earliest.

Versi’s tweet also revealed that the Android Marshmallow update for the One M9 on Sprint will also be released soon, or next week to be exact. As for the One M9 on other carriers like AT&T, Versi revealed that they are still several weeks out for AT&T, and that he will provide a more specific date as it gets closer to its release.

In any case for Sprint HTC One M8 customers, make sure you got your phone charged at least by 50% and hook it up to your WiFi so that when the update comes, it won’t eat into your data and your phone won’t die on you halfway through the update.
