As PC gamers have more choices when it come to deciding what kind of hardware goes into their rig, safe to say games on the PC have the potential to look better than what consoles can offer. This is unfortunately true for Bethesda’s Fallout 4 in which the PC version of the game ended up looking noticeably better than its console counterparts.

However the good news for console gamers is that the latest patch for Fallout 4 will fix it. Patch 1.3 was released last week and according to Bethesda themselves, it will improve upon the graphics of the console versions of the game. This was further tested by the folks at Digital Foundry who confirmed the improvements in the video above.

While the patch doesn’t exactly bring it up to par with the PC version of the game, or at least the PC version with maxxed out settings, it supposedly brings it pretty close. According to Digital Foundry, “Fallout 4 is now equivalent to the game running on the high graphics preset, albeit with medium quality shadows.”

However they also note that there are still some issues with the Xbox One version of the game in the form of stutter. “Just a shame that the intrusive stutter on Xbox One is still a real issue.” In any case if you haven’t updated the game already, maybe you should because in addition to improvements, the patch should bring about general stability and bug fixes that are always welcome.
