Facebook Messenger Screenshots For Windows 10 Leaked

Facebook_Messenger_Windows_10Last year during Microsoft’s Surface event in October, the company announced that users of Windows 10 can expect more apps to make their way onto the platform, some of them will be from Facebook in which users will be able to rely on native Windows 10 apps to access the social network.

Thanks to a recent set of leaked screenshots obtained by WindowsBlogItalia (via VentureBeat), we are getting a glimpse at what appears to be a native Facebook Messenger app for Windows 10. Right now accessing Messenger can be done either by visiting Facebook on your browser, or going to the little-known Mesenger.com, or using the app on your smartphone or tablet.

However if you’d rather not have browser windows open during work or school, then a native app might be a more subtle version. From what we can tell based on the screenshots, it seems that the desktop version of the app closely resembles the user interface of Messenger.com, which is actually a good thing.

Users can send messages, receive notifications, send photos, videos, GIFs, stickers, and more. It’s pretty much the entire Messenger experience on the desktop. Facebook has since confirmed the existence of the app and in a statement released to VentureBeat, “We’re testing Messenger for Windows 10 to a small percentage of people in a few countries. We don’t have any additional details to share at this time.” Unfortunately no word on its release, so we guess we’ll just have to wait.
