The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are the company’s latest smartphones and are packed with the latest technology, meaning that on paper, it should very well blow the competition out of the water. A recent video uploaded onto YouTube by Jerome Ortega decided to pit the handset against several other devices to see just how well it would perform.

The handsets included in the test are the Nexus 6P, the Moto X Pure Edition, and the iPhone 6s Plus. Interestingly enough despite what seems like the logical assumption that the Galaxy S7 would “win”, it seems that in the speed test conducted above, Apple’s iPhone 6s Plus from 2015 actually managed to pull ahead.

That being said, we guess it’s not a 100% fair comparison given that they both run different operating systems. It should also be pointed out that unlike the iPhone, the Galaxy S7 Edge and the other Android handsets do have a higher resolution that they need rendering, which could have impacted its speed.

So if we were to look at it from an Android comparison standpoint, the Galaxy S7 Edge is clearly leading the pack, although the Nexus 6P looks like it comes pretty close. So if you’re deciding on which Android phone to get, the Galaxy S7 Edge won’t disappoint based on this test, but if you’re thinking between iOS or Android, maybe the iPhone 6s Plus might not be such a bad idea.
