Several days ago, we reported that a new Hearthstone expansion would be announced this Friday, and sure enough it has. Blizzard has officially announced the latest Hearthstone expansion that they are calling “Whispers of the Old Gods” which will be based around, well, the Old Gods from the Warcraft lore.

The expansion will add 134 new cards to the game, so if you’re looking for new decks that you can potentially create, or maybe to enhance existing decks, then these 134 new cards are worth looking forward to. In addition, Blizzard has also announced that the expansion will see four new Legendary Old Gods cards.

According to Blizzard, “Four Legendary Old Gods cards will arrive with Whispers of the Old Gods, and they’re horribly eager to lend their eldritch might to your collection. C’Thun, Yogg-Saron, Y’Shaarj, and N’Zoth all stand (sit? squirm? writhe?) ready to unleash indescribable power upon your opponents.”

If this sounds like an expansion you’d like to get your hands on, Blizzard will open up pre-orders for a 50-pack bundle come 14th of March where it will be priced at $50. Gamers who pre-purchase will also be entitled to a new card back. The expansion itself has been slated for a release in late April/early May across all the platforms Hearthstone is currently available on.
