anker_powerhouseSmartphone batteries have indeed come a long way since back in the day. Nowadays we have phones packing batteries as large as 5,000mAh, which means that we should be able to squeeze out 2-3 days worth of use before needing a recharge. This is well and good if you’re at home or at the office, but what if you’re travelling or outdoors?

This is where battery packs can come in handy, but even then battery packs are limited in their capacity, at least until Anker came along and unveiled their upcoming PowerHouse battery pack. This is a battery pack that features a 434Wh battery under the hood. It is also pretty big which means that it is obviously not meant to be carried with you everywhere on a daily basis.

It will probably come in handy if you are travelling to countries or areas where running electricity isn’t reliable or readily available, or if you are planning on camping out for a week or two. The PowerHouse is said to be able to charge a smartphone 40 times before being depleted. Alternatively it can also charge laptops, mini fridges, or even power a 15V light bulb for more than 100 hours.

That being said, the PowerHouse does not come cheap as it is priced at $600, but if you pre-order then it will be discounted to $500. Like we said it is not cheap and chances are it isn’t for everyone, but if you think you have a need for it, then hit up Amazon’s website to place your pre-order.
