After months and months of wait, gamers across the globe finally got their hands on Dark Souls 3. The title had already been released in Japan so the wait was much more agonizing for fans of the franchise not based in The Land of the Rising Sun. The launch hasn’t gone off as smoothly as Bandai Namco would have hoped as gamers are now complaining about a Dark Souls 3 PC crashing issue.

Many, but not all, are seeing the game crash on PC. It appears that for them the game crashes as early as the first bonfire. You can imagine how frustrating that might be for fans who have waited months for this title and can’t get a decent gaming experience right now.

Some players have come up with temporary fixes as Bandai Namco hasn’t provided a proper fix for this issue just yet. It involves changing the lighting setting to “low,” and playing the game as a knight.

The temporary fix appears to work, in some cases just one fix does the trick, in others players have used a combination of the two to start playing Dark Souls 3 without having it crash on them.

Bandai Namco is yet to confirm what’s causing the game to crash early on for many gamers, and it hasn’t detailed when the fix is going to arrive, so there’s going to be a bit of wait involved here.
