The new DOOM from Bethesda looks incredibly promising and given that DOOM was one of the FPS titles to help pave the way for many other FPS titles, safe to say that the franchise has a legion of eager fans waiting to get their hands on the game. Now as you might have heard, the DOOM open beta will be kicking off this Friday, but to help whet your appetite, a new trailer has since been released.

In addition to the new trailer, Bethesda has also announced that starting today, gamers will be able to preload the open beta so that come 15th April, they can start playing right away. “We’re opening the gates of Hell to everyone! From April 15 through 17, take part in the DOOM Open Beta multiplayer event. No codes necessary. Like the Closed Beta, you’ll have access to Team Deathmatch and Warpath on the Heatwave and Infernal maps. Preload the Open Beta on April 12 so you’re ready to Fight Like Hell when the servers open.”

The open beta as its name suggests is open. This means that anyone will be able to take part in the game, regardless of whether or not you have signed up for the beta or if you have pre-ordered the game. As Bethesda notes, not codes will be necessary so if you’re wondering if the game is worth your time and money, this coming weekend is when you will find out for yourself.

In the meantime the game is set for a release on the 13th of May and will be available on the PS4, Xbox One, and the PC.
