samsung-logoEver since Samsung introduced curved displays with the Galaxy Note Edge, the company’s subsequent handsets have been released sporting similar setups. Last year when the company launched the Galaxy Note 5, they also launched the Galaxy S6 Edge+ which was more or less a curved variant (minus the S Pen functionality).

However could Samsung be looking to repeat that this year? Apparently not. According to a report from GSM Helpdesk (via SamMobile), word on the street is that Samsung could be thinking of just releasing one flagship phone in the later part of the year. The report also claims that Samsung is still deciding between a flat screen version of the Galaxy Note 6 or a curved screen version, but either way both displays are rumored to be of the 5.8-inch variety.

In addition to the 5.8-inch potentially curved display, Samsung is also rumored to pack a pretty huge 4,000mAh battery under the hood which on paper should result in the phone lasting a lot longer than most of its competitors. So far we have heard various rumors about the upcoming phone, like how it will pack 6GB of RAM.

There are also rumors to suggest that the phone could be powered by the unannounced Qualcomm Snapdragon 823 chipset. In any case it’s probably best to take it with a grain of salt for now, but hopefully we will have more details to share soon.
