sony_xperia_mSony certainly shook things up earlier this year when they decided to introduce their Xperia X series of smartphones over their Xperia Z lineup. However if neither of those Xperia X phones appealed to you, you might be interested to learn that according to a recent rumor, Sony could have a new Xperia M phone in the works.

The Sony Xperia M family isn’t new and Sony has launched the Xperia M handset in the past. However according to the report, this phone is allegedly known as the Xperia M Ultra and if the rumors are to be believed, the handset could pack a rather powerful camera under its hood which might appeal to smartphone photography enthusiasts.

According to the rumor, the phone will feature dual 23MP rear-facing cameras, and on the front we could be looking at a 16MP shooter. The rear camera will feature a combination of a 24mm lens and a 75mm lens, both of which will have apertures of f/2.2 and will even come with Sony’s OSS (optical steady shot) feature.

Dual cameras certainly seem to be the rage these days, what with Huawei launching the Huawei P9 with a dual camera setup, not to mention there are reports of Apple reportedly considering a similar setup as well. In any case take it with a grain of salt but hopefully we’ll have more details to offer soon.
