Many of you will have played the original Call of Duty: Black Ops on Xbox 360. It was released several years ago and was a very popular game back in its day. Since Xbox One has the ability to run Xbox 360 games some of you would have been wishing for it to become compatible with Xbox One, and now it has. Major Nelson confirmed today that the original Call of Duty: Black Ops game is now backwards compatible on Xbox One.

It became clear earlier today that the original title will soon be backwards compatible with the Xbox One. A listing was spotted on the Xbox 360 dashboard which revealed that “COD: Black Ops – Now Plays on Xbox One.”

At that time, it appeared that the listing had gone live ahead of schedule, but it didn’t take too long for Microsoft’s Major Nelson to officially confirm that yes, the original Black Ops title that was released for Xbox 360 can now be played on Xbox One.

Sure enough, the title is now mentioned in the list of backwards compatible titles for Xbox One. Those who are facing issues installing Call of Duty: Black Ops from disc should restart their box and try again, Major Nelson says this will make the issues go away.
