HTC today unveiled another Desire-branded handset. It was only a few weeks ago that leaks related to this handset started appearing online and the company has now officially unveiled this device. The HTC Desire 830 was shown off today in Taiwan, it takes the baton from the Desire 820, and while it has a similar build and specifications it does bring some improvements to the power package.

Like its predecessor the HTC Desire 830 has been fashioned out of plastic and it even retains the back cover design of the Desire 820. Slight changes have been made to the front of the handset which now looks a bit similar to the HTC One X9. It does retain the BoomSound speakers at the front.

HTC Desire 830 features a 5.5 inch LCD display with 1920×1080 pixel resolution, its predecessor had a 1280×720 pixel resolution display. Under the hood, there’s a MediaTek Helio X10 processor with 3GB RAM. It should provide similar performance to the Snapdragon 612 that HTC used for the Desire 820.

This handset also features a 13 megapixel rear camera with Optical Image Stabilization as well as a 4 megapixel UltraPixel camera on the front. There’s 32GB of internal storage with support for microSD cards, and a 2,800mAh battery.

HTC has priced the Desire 830 at around $300 in Taiwan, it is yet to confirm when this handset will arrive in other markets.
