oneplus-2-review-11

The OnePlus 2 was the second “flagship killer” handset that OnePlus released. It was meant to have specifications that were equal to those of flagships from other manufacturers. That may be true but it didn’t receive the latest Android update as quickly as some of them did. OnePlus has only just sent out the OnePlus 2 Marshmallow update.

OnePlus confirms that Oxygen OS 3.0.2 is rolling out over-the-air today. This custom ROM for the OnePlus 2 is based on Android Marshmallow version 6.0.1. The update brings some other features and improvements aside from Marshmallow which is at the heart of this ROM.

Oxygen OS 3.0.2 for OnePlus 2 brings a new OnePlus Camera UI and autofocus optimization. It removes MaxxAudio and Tuner, while Dirac HD Sound technology has been integrated for the speaker.

Other tweaks include shelf UX improvements that enable users to long press to edit a board, lock apps in recent so that they aren’t cleared away, as well as Swiftkey update to version 6.3.3.

It’s said that all of the users who own a OnePlus 2 are going to receive this latest update over-the-air within the next 48 hours. OTA roll outs tend to take their time but if OnePlus is able to stick to this timeframe, its customers will no doubt be happy about getting the update soon after it’s released.
