game of thronesAs some of you might have heard, we only have 13 episodes or so left in the Game of Thrones TV series. After that the show will be officially concluded, which we guess will be a bit of a bummer, but then again who really wants shows that drag way past its lifespan anyway, right? Fortunately for us, that time has been extended.

Unfortunately this does not mean that there will be more episodes, but rather our time with the series has been extended due to a delay of season 7. The series was expected to be launched in April next year. The show’s new seasons have typically launched in April but next year will be different due to weather conditions.

Speaking during the UFC Unfiltered podcast, showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss said, “We don’t have an air date yet, but this year will likely be a bit later. We’re starting a bit later because, you know, the end of this season, winter is here, and that means sunny weather doesn’t serve our purposes anymore, so we pushed back everything down the line to get some grim, grey weather, even in the sunnier places that we shoot.”

Like we said, we guess it’s good because it means the show will be sticking around for ever so slightly longer, although we guess this also means that viewers will have wait a bit longer to see what happens in season 7.
