Little, Brown Books for Young Readers – a division of the Hachette Book Group – and reading technology company Booktrack today introduced a new generation of eBooks for young adult readers that feature soundtracks. This partnership between the two provides young adult readers with an innovative new way to experience the stories that they like through synchronized, movie-style soundtracks.

Soundtracks will be made available on Little, Brown’s Booktrack page for popular novellas by bestselling young adult authors such as Libba Bray, Laini Taylor, Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl, Jennifer E. Smith, and Rebecca Serle throughout this summer. New releases will regularly be added every month.

Soundtracks for digital originals by Jennifer Rush, Emily Lloyd-Jones, Kendall Kulper, Kate Elliot, and Virginia Boecker will also be released on Booktrack over the summer.

The idea is to add another dimension to the reading experience, so for example, when readers are reading about a battle they might hear a clash of swords in the background or if the story’s main character is standing high on a cliff they might hear a gentle breeze.

“The soundtracks add a totally immersive, enhanced experience to the amazing Hachette titles we’ll be offering in our library,” said Paul Cameron, CEO and cofounder of Booktrack.
