sony-xperia-x-performance_02This year has admittedly been a bit quiet for Sony. Samsung, LG, HTC, Huawei, and Xiaomi have all been making a fair bit of noise by launching product after product. Sony on the other hand has kept to themselves. However it seems that a recent sighting on GFXBench has revealed that Sony could have a new handset in the works.

According to the benchmarks, the handset in question has the model number F833X. This model number puts it above the Xperia X Performance which has the model number F813X, indicating that this could be a new and potentially more powerful handset, and its benchmarks certainly point towards that.

For starters the phone appears to be packing a Snapdragon 820 chipset with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. There is also a 23MP rear-facing camera, a 13MP front-facing camera, and a 5.1-inch Full HD display. Save for the display, the rest of the specs are pretty much in line with what we’ve come to expect from a flagship these days.

There is no word on when Sony plans on launching this handset, but we should remind you guys that Sony did previously state that they will be reducing their focus on the China, India, and US markets, meaning that even if this handset were to be launched, there’s no guarantee that it will find its way stateside.
