pokemon go plusBack in July, many Pokemon GO players were probably eagerly anticipating the release of the Pokemon GO Plus accessory, but unfortunately it was delayed to September. According to Nintendo, they explained the reason for the delay, claiming that both them and Niantic were working to ensure a quality launch.

The good news is that you won’t have to wait much longer because according to the latest update from Niantic, they have announced that the accessory will be launching on the 16th of September, a little over a week away. In case you’re unfamiliar with the accessory, basically the Pokemon GO Plus is another way for you to enjoy the game without having to whip out your phone all the time.

According to Niantic, “Pokémon GO Plus is a companion device that connects to your phone over Bluetooth Smart (the Bluetooth low energy connection designed for health and fitness applications), allowing you to keep your phone in your pocket and go about your day-to-day activities while still being able to collect valuable resources and capture even the most elusive Pokémon.”

The accessory will be priced at $35 which is admittedly kind of expensive, but if you’re heavily invested in the game we guess maybe you can justify its price tag. Niantic claims it will be released in “most countries” and will find its way to some South American markets later this year.
