South Park fans who were looking forward to the new game will not be pleased with this latest development. Ubisoft has confirmed today that the upcoming adventure game titled South Park: The Fractured But Whole has been delayed. It was originally supposed to be released on December 6th this year but the company now says that we will have to wait until next year for it.

“The development team wants to make sure the game experience meets the high expectations of fans and the additional time will help them achieve this goal,” Ubisoft writes in a post on its official blog.

Ubisoft had confirmed back at E3 2016 that South Park: The Fractured But Whole would be released on December 6th, 2016. It also released new trailers for the game during the convention as well as some gameplay footage. This game is the sequel to South Park: The Stick of Truth which was released back in 2014. Ubisoft also recently demonstrated the title at Gamescom 2016.

No confirmed release date has been provided yet, but Ubisoft says that South Park: The Fractured But Whole is now scheduled for release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in the first quarter of 2017. Fans will certainly hope that it doesn’t get delayed beyond that.
