htc-boltThe HTC Bolt is a handset made by HTC that has been making its rounds recently. Its name has been speculated to be a codename and now thanks to a recent tweet by famed leakster Evan Blass, he has revealed that the HTC Bolt will most likely be marketed globally as the HTC 10 evo.

Given that the renderings and leaked photos have revealed the phone’s design to be roughly similar to the HTC 10, we guess it’s not surprising that it will be falling under the HTC 10 lineup, assuming the rumors are true that is. Interestingly enough this isn’t the first time HTC has used names like “bolt” or “evo” in its products, like we have seen in the past devices such as the HTC Thunderbolt and the HTC Evo 4G.

Those devices are probably completely unrelated to this handset, but it’s interesting to see HTC potentially recycling its names. Then again maybe some customers do prefer some familiarity, so why not? Right now not much is known about the handset, save for its rumored 5.5-inch display whose resolution is being debated at either Full HD or QHD.

It is also rumored to have ditched the headphone jack, and that it could come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset.  No word on when it will be announced, but the handset has recently passed through the FCC so hopefully we will be getting an announcement soon.
