sony-a99-iiLast month Sony announced their latest A-mount camera: the Sony A99 II. For the past year or two, the company has been focused more on their mirrorless E-mount cameras which led to some photographers getting worried that the A-mount would be left behind, so safe to say that the announcement of the A99 II was a much-welcomed one.

In fact it looks like photographer are proving that to be true because according to an announcement from Sony Japan (via Sony Alpha Rumors), the company has warned that they are currently facing high demand for the A99 II and that some customers could potentially be affected by later-than-expected shipping.

According to the Google translation of the announcement, “With regard to the digital single-lens camera ‘α99 II’ will be released on November 25th, has received bookings exceeded initial domestic sales plan significantly, it has become a situation that does not keep up with the domestic needs of our customers . For this reason, it might get time to deliver the goods. That you apologize for any inconvenience to our customers and you wait, I apologize.”

It is unclear if this high demand is only for the Japanese market or if other markets around the world are similarly affected. The camera’s release is set for this coming November so if you’d like to avoid any potential delays for your market, maybe you should start placing your pre-orders today.
