Rumor has it that Sony is going to launch two new smartphones at the Mobile World Congress 2017. It won’t really surprise anyone since the company has previously launched new handsets at the event so it will just be keeping up with tradition. Mobile World Congress 2017 is going to take place in February so we just have to wait for a couple of months to find out for sure what Sony has in store for us.

Two new codenames for Xperia smartphones have been spotted at The Eurasian Economic Commission – G3112 and G3121 – but not much is known about these handsets right now.

It’s also unclear what moniker Sony is going to give these new handsets, the rumor suggests that they might be called the Xperia Z2 since by then it would have been a full year since the Xperia X was released. Sony did launch the Xperia X at the Mobile World Congress event.

If these new handsets from Sony are indeed in the pipeline then we can be sure to hear more rumors about them in the coming weeks. Sony hasn’t really made any waves in the smartphone market with its handsets recently so many will be interested to see how its new smartphones stack up against the competition.
