If you subscribe to Amazon Prime then you will be happy to find out that Twitch is now offering some incentives to people to subscribe to this program. The new perks for Twitch users who subscribe to Amazon Prime include ad-free streaming as well as discounts on video games. Just in case you’re wondering why Twitch is being so generous to Amazon Prime subscribers that’s because Twitch is now owned by Amazon.
These new incentives are collectively called Twitch Prime and they promise ad-free streaming as well as video game discounts for titles purchased via Amazon.com.
To be clear, Twitch Prime won’t be sold as a standalone subscription service. To get these incentives you need to subscribe to Amazon Prime which already provides subscribers with free two-day shipping on millions of items and a lot more for $99 per year.
“Offering subscriptions free through Prime saves money for viewers while supporting streamers to build their community. Free games and in-game content are always a hit with gamers, but they also let developers reach millions of new potential players,” explained Twitch CEO Emmett Shear.
Additional incentives include “game loot” which will provide subscribers with items for games popular on Twitch. They will also get one free channel subscription per 30 days, this usually costs $4.99 per month.
Twitch Prime is now live for all existing and new Amazon Prime subscribers.
