Google today announced the launch of the shop. tap. reward program for Android Pay users in the United Kingdom. Android Pay has been growing steadily across the pond ever since it was launched there in May this year. Starting today and until the end of the year, each time users pay with Android Pay in store or on the Transport for London network they will receive a virtual cracker in the app. They can open the cracker to find out if they’ve won one of the over 100,000 gift cards that Google will be giving out this holiday season.

These virtual crackers could be hiding a £10 Costa Coffee gift card, a £500 House of Fraser gift card, a gift card to Currys PC World of the same value or a pair of tickets for ODEON Cinemas.

Customers can also collect a virtual coin with each of their first five taps. After five coins have been collected users will get a free £3 Costa Coffee gift card.

That’s not all. Starting today, users in the United Kingdom will start seeing the Android Pay button in the Uber app. This will enable them to pay using the mobile payments service for rides they take with Uber with just a couple of taps.
