apple-vape
It appears that Apple has patented a vape or something quite similar. A patent application filed by the company has been published this week by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Apple originally filed for this patent last year and it details a vaporizer technology that can regulate temperature to release heat from a substance inside a canister. That sounds a lot like how vapes work.

Vapes are electric devices that let users inhale tobacco-free and often nicotine-free smoke. They’re referred to as e-cigarettes as well and are normally advertised as replacements for those who are looking to cut down or quit smoking.

On the face of it, this patent application would make you think that Apple is developing a similar device that it’s eventually going to sell as an iVape or something but don’t jump to that conclusion just yet. The patent application doesn’t really detail what the substance this device has been designed to be used with or if this is meant to be a standalone product that’s meant for recreational use.

The thing with patents is that just because something has been patented doesn’t mean it will ever see the light of day. Apple has patented countless things that we’ve not seen yet so it’s likely going to be a very long time before we find out what this device is really meant for.
